# Link element in the Editor

## Overview

The Link element allows you to add a visually styled content block that links to an external website. It’s designed to help guide recipients to additional resources without disrupting the structure of your document or deal room.

## What the Link element is used for

Use the Link element when you want to:

- Direct recipients to external content
- Share blog posts, landing pages, or product pages
- Add clear call-to-action links inside your content

## Adding a link

When adding a Link element:

- You enter a URL
- The editor creates a structured link block
- The link appears as a call-to-action button for recipients

## Editing link content

After adding the Link element, you can customize:

- Headline text
- Supporting description text
- Button label
- Placement within the editor block

This allows the link to match the tone and purpose of your content.

## How recipients interact with the link

When recipients click the button in the Link element, they are redirected to the linked website in their browser.

## When to use other options instead

- Use **inline links** for simple text hyperlinks
- Use **Image & Text** when linking is secondary to visual content
- Use the **Link element** when redirection is the primary action

## Managing the Link element

Like other layout elements, the Link element can be:

- Moved within the editor
- Locked to prevent changes
- Deleted if no longer needed
